CREATION OF THE ANTHOLOGY: A COLLECTIVE PROJECT FOR INDIGENOUS STUDENTS
As part of the Campaign Promoting School Retention and Educational Success, Puamun Meshkenu invite students to participate in the creation of a collective work, for and by Indigenous students: Anthology: A Collective Project.
This work will bring together the drawings, texts and comics of the students who have been selected to be part of this major project. This book will be made available free on their website at the end of the school year.
We want to know what makes them proud of going to school or what inspires them to be persistent.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE?
Print the following three templates and return your artwork by December 1, 2020 :

- Template to be filled in – DRAWING
- Template to be filled in – TEXT
PARTICIPATION PRIZE
The authors of the selected works will receive a nice surprise for their contribution! Several participation prizes will also be drawn among all the participants.

Nos petits monstres pourront célébrer la fête de l’Halloween, le 31 octobre prochain, de façon toutefois différente des années précédentes en raison de la pandémie qui sévit actuellement.
Sur recommandation de la Santé publique, les activités de collecte de bonbons de maison en maison seront autorisées, à condition de respecter quelques consignes suivantes pour réduire les risques de transmission de la COVID-19.

We would like to remind you that due to an increase in the alert level, the following measures come into effect as of THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10:
- Visitors domiciled at another address are prohibited in private homes, with the exception of:
– Only one visitor from another address for people living alone;
– Caregivers;
– Persons offering a service or support;
– Labour for planned work; - Private gatherings are prohibited;
- Organized activities in a public place are prohibited, with the exception of places of worship for a maximum of 25 people at a time;
- Inter-regional travel to a green, yellow or orange zone is not recommended.

COVID-19 | REMINDER – MANDATORY QUARANTINE
We would like to remind you that in this time of pandemic, every person entering Canada has an obligation, upon arrival :
- to quarantine for 14 days;
- to give their contact information when they enter Canada;
- to monitor their health status for symptoms similar to COVID-19.
As a result, these persons will not be allowed access to the buildings of the Abenaki Council of Odanak and the Health Centre during their quarantine period and no home services will be offered to them.

Nouvelle passerelle DEC-BAC à l’Institution Kiuna (In French only)
Grâce à une association entre l’Institution Kiuna, seul centre d’études collégiales destiné aux Premières Nations au Québec, et l’Université Saint-Paul, située à Ottawa, les diplômés et diplômées du programme Sciences humaines – profil Premières Nations (300.B0) de Kiuna auront la possibilité d’accéder au B.A. spécialisé en innovation sociale de l’Université Saint-Paul.
La reconnaissance des unités permettra aux étudiants d’obtenir, en quatre ans, un diplôme d’études collégiales et un baccalauréat.
En joignant leurs efforts, l’Institution Kiuna et l’Université Saint-Paul s’engagent à encourager l’excellence en éducation, à offrir des possibilités de formation pratique, à accroître l’accès aux programmes d’études postsecondaires en français et en anglais et à assurer la mobilité entre les établissements.
«Cette association s’inscrit dans notre mission de favoriser chez nos étudiants le leadership et la persévérance, et reflète notre volonté d’assurer un continuum de services éducatifs de qualité qui tient compte de leurs aspirations, de leurs réalités et de leur culture», a déclaré Prudence Hannis, directrice de l’Institution Kiuna.
«Nous sommes très heureux de nous associer à Kiuna pour cette nouvelle entente d’arrimage», a ajouté Chantal Beauvais, rectrice de l’Université Saint-Paul. «Ce partenariat marque une étape importante alors que nos établissements travaillent ensemble pour appuyer les étudiants et étudiantes autochtones dans la réalisation de leurs objectifs universitaires et de leurs aspirations futures.»
Les deux établissements souligneront ce nouveau partenariat à l’occasion de l’inauguration, plus tard cette année, d’un nouveau centre pour les étudiants autochtones à l’Université Saint-Paul.
